Vareniks
Vareniks are part of Ukrainian festive tavle. They are cooked at Christmas and Easter, religious holidays, christening party etc. At second day after merriage bride’s friends bring vareniks to the bride for breakfast. Vareniks are cooked to gather all family at the table. “Veres” was collecting the best recipes for many years all over Ukraine – from Donbass to the Carpathean Mountains. The main secret is thin dough – not more than 1-2 mm, and rich filling: cherry, whotlebery, curd, liver, mushrooms and meat.
